Alongside all of this is a note sealed with wax, into which is pressed a crest featuring a sigil of a tree. Inside, neatly written, it says: ]

[Eponine just gapes. She cannot, cannot compute what is happening to her. She cannot believe that she's sat in her room with a real, genuine princess gown laid on her bed, and jewelled shoes, and a flower crown far finer than any she makes from blooms in her lap. For a good, long while, she sits and stares. And then, very quickly, heart beating a million miles an hour, she hurries to ready herself for her prince.]
